Prickly Pear Jam


  • 6-8 Prickly Pear fruit depending on size
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 1 cup water


  • Cut pears in half and scoop out pulp and place in a sauce pan.
  • Add water and sugar and bring to a boil over medium heat.
  • Boil mixture until it reduces by 1/3 and pulp is soft.
  • Strain mixture through a fine sieve. Make sure to save the syrup. Place pulp in bowl and add about 2 tbsp. of syrup and mix well.
  • Refrigerate.
