Country-style Green Beans & Potatoes


  • 1 pound fresh green beans stemmed and cleaned
  • 5-8 small red potatoes depending on size rough cut
  • ¼ yellow onion
  • 1 ½ cups water
  • 1 tbsp chicken base
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Splash of cream


  • Place all ingredients except for cream in a deep sauce pan over medium high heat and stir to combine.
  • Bring to a boil and reduce heat to medium and cover.
  • Cook until potatoes are tender.
  • Add a splash of cream and stir.
  • Salt and pepper to taste.
