Beer Batter Steak Fingers

  • 1 lb round steak

  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp ground cumin
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup beer (I recommend a lager)

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup water

  • Pound your steak to tenderize it and then cut it into fingers.

  • Mix all marinade ingredients together to completely combine. In a large zip lock bag, place steak fingers and pour in marinade. Squeeze bag to get as much air out as possible and then seal bag. Squeeze and turn bag to make sure marinade gets all over meat. Place in refrigerator for 24 hours.

  • Place all batter ingredients in a bowl and mix very well to completely combine. Pre-heat fryer or oil to 370 degrees. Remove meat from marinade and drain. Drop fingers one at a time in batter to completely coat and then gradually place in hot oil. Fry until golden brown, turning as needed. Remove from oil and place on paper towels to drain.
