Okay, there is mac and cheese…and then there is Texas Mac and Cheese.   What makes it Texas Mac and Cheese? How about a little onion, a little jalapeno and…brisket!  This is a great dish with a wonderful flavor and it is easy to make.  If you like mac and cheese, then this is something that you better try – warning though, it is hard to go back after you have crossed over.

Texas Mac and Cheese

Ingredients

  • 2 cups penne pasta cooked
  • 1 cup cream
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 12 oz cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1/4 cup onion chopped
  • 1 jalapeno minced
  • 1 cup cooked brisket chopped
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 4 oz mixed cheese shredded

Instructions

  • In a pot over medium low heat place pasta, cream and milk. Add cheese, onions, jalapeno and brisket. Stir to completely combine and continue stirring until cheese is completely melted. Season and place in baking pan. Sprinkle top with mixed shredded cheese and place in a 350 degree oven until cheese is completely melted.
